Volunteers Needed at the Viva Youth Theatre
Charity Shop
As
many Soham residents will probably know, the charity shop has
been running successfully since January 2004, raising money for
Viva Youth
Theatre and giving people somewhere to drop off their (many!) unwanted
(but perfectly serviceable) goods. For some time now customers
coming in on a Saturday have expressed a desire for the shop to
open on other days as well and this would also help us to pay
for the rent of the shop, which we now have to supply since the
building was bought for us to rent part of and manage the rest.
We will now be open until 3.00pm on Mondays,
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and will soon also be opening
on Wednesdays.
However, we need more volunteers in order to do this. There are
always at least two people in the shop at any one time, often
three and any volunteers would be given training as to where
everything is and what to do. It is very straightforward and the
volunteers that are already helping out seem to get a lot out of
it and find it very enjoyable. If anybody would like to
volunteer a few hours or know of friends or relatives who would
like to volunteer, please call Lisa Hunt on 01353 722228. Regular volunteers would receive two free tickets
to Viva shows.
